Rules

  1. All exhibitors must be 4-H members, FFA members, or students age 20 and under.
  2. All cattle must be owned, fed, and cared for by the exhibitor.
  3. Exhibitors are limited to one entry per class.
  4. Each exhibitor must show their own animal in the ring.
  5. All cattle must arrive during designated entry times.
  6. Fair staff will not feed, water, or clean up after animals.
  7. Liability for animals rests with the owner.
  8. No animal may leave without approval from the Fair Manager.
  9. Animals not picked up by release time become property of the fair.
  10. Animals must be halter broke and shown as directed.
  11. Animals must be healthy and not from quarantined herds.
  12. Only one attendant pass is allowed per exhibitor.
  13. Classes will be judged on type, conformation, and quality.
  14. Judges may provide reasons for placements.
  15. Entries must be submitted to the appropriate advisor using the official form.
  16. Feed and water containers should not be left in stalls with animals.
  17. A herdsman award will be given based on cleanliness and presentation.

Show Details

  • Registered and grade animals may be divided at the advisor's discretion.
  • Shorthorns may be shown as dairy or beef, but not both.
  • Bull entries are subject to show committee approval.
  • No bull over 1 year of age may be shown without a nose lead.
  • No dairy bulls are permitted.
  • Feeder/market steers must be at least 300 lbs and have no visible horns.

Judging & Awards

  • Animals are judged based on type, conformation, and overall quality.
  • Herdsman awards are given for cleanliness and presentation.
  • Judging results and awards are determined solely by the judges.
