Hay Bale Decorating Contest

Eligibility

Entries will be judged in two groups:

• 4-H Clubs: Appomattox 4-H, Buckingham 4-H, Charlotte 4-H, Cumberland 4-H, and Prince Edward 4-H
• FFA Chapters: Appomattox FFA, Buckingham FFA, Charlotte FFA, Cumberland FFA, and Prince Edward FFA

Rules

1. All entry forms must be received by the Deadline
2. Only one entry per organization is allowed.
3. Only first place will be awarded in each group.
4. The theme of the contest is the Current Fair Theme.
5. The Five County Fair will provide one 4' x 5' round bale of hay per entry. Bales will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
6. All items and supplies used to decorate the hay bale are the responsibility of the exhibitors and must be securely attached.
7. The hay bale design will be displayed throughout the entire fair week.
8. The finished structure must not exceed 12' long x 12' wide x 10' high.
9. All entries must be completed and signs turned in by Saturday, September 19, at 6PM
10. Each organization must provide a sign with the organization name, title, and explanation of the design.
11. All decorating items should be picked up on Sunday, September 27 from 1PM to 5PM
12. Judging will be based on creativity, construction, quality of work, and eye appeal.
